What is a prostitute?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/11/prostitution-a-users-ma_n_91022.html

the above link is from an article in the Huffington Post..about what is a prostitute? The Huffington Post attempts to make this article seem...intelligent by using quotes from "noted experts" on sociology, human behaviour specialists and the like...hmm. No one asked me for my input. I am hurt and offended. I first read about this from a post on a review site...and here is the response I posted..

Generalizations from those who have never walked a mile in my high heels tend to piss me off hardcore. After reading this article and conducting my own research into the matter, (including the various definitions of the word prostitute), drawing from my own personal experience (been married twice)..I have come to this conclusion on this matter.
That article is a bunch of junk. I love when people who have never walked a mile in my high heels can inform me on how this lifestyle is. It is similar to how those who do not suck dick can tell me the best way how to. (had that happen..almost punched a girl in her throat for that)
the human species is supposed to be the most intelligent of life forms on ths planet..with a brain capacity beyond our comprehension. i guess this explains the narrow minded way of thinking that is so....restrictive! Argh!
Prositution has many definitions to many people...but it basically boils down to an exchange of sorts. You do this for me, and I will do this for you. In order to cast a bad light on this practice, the definition reads "is the act or practice of engaging in sex acts for hire" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution)
I suggest to the authors of the article, and all who base their opinions of this industry on the outdated teachings of the Roman Catholic Church..read up on this...and then form your own conclusions. The article from the Huffington Post is just another form of propaganda to completely ban all forms of enjoyable sex.
If a woman is married...does this make her less of a prostitute? Just because she is not sleeping with different men on the street corner does not make her any less...and I speak from personal experience. Marriage is a CONTRACT...the wedding ceremony and the signing of the paperwork..is the TRANSACTION. A woman pledges herself to one man in exchange for protection and security..for her and her offspring.

Providers, tricks, johns, whatever you want to call them..simply bypass the all consuming, lengthy arrangements and constraints a contract is..and enter into a shortened and more gratifying transaction. They skip the contract part..and just complete the transaction

Now, to further explain myself a bit...and the idea I was trying to get across.

Just because a woman is married and does not seek outside her marriage does not make her any less a prostitute. She is providing loyalty to her husband. She provides for him as he provides for her. Why? The man is taking care of her..in the hopes she will have and care for his offspring. The whole natural selection process thingy..sigh. Anyways, in a perfect world..that is how it happens. The woman hooks up with the male of the species (who is stronger, smarter and faster) in order to be protected..and to survive. In exchange for this stability, security..whether this be physical, mental or financial...she sees to his needs...and will procreate with him. It's still an exchange, is it not? And oh, wow. How are children brought forth? Sexual intercourse.

Also take for instance a corporate setting. You sit at your desk, answering emails, putting up with ill treatment from your superiour...for what? A paycheck. You do the work for your superior correctly..you dont get fired and you get a paycheck!! Do this for me, and I will do this for you...the better the pay, the more apt we are to subject ourself to this...corporate prostitution. It isnt always about sex..its an exchange of goods and services for goods or services. The sexual content came about in the early or mid 15th century..from the Roman Catholic Church. (read the wikipedia article i posted earlier in this article).

I simply do not understand how we as humans have not progressed in our viewpoints. We cling to these outdated and narrow minded teachings of old...and yet, have the nerve to call ourselves an advanced civilisation. I call bull crap. We, as a species, shall never evolve past the primatve state we are in now if we do not shake off the old way of thinking. We must open our minds to the possibility...that our ancestors were a bit...primative..in their thinking. Times have changed...yet as a whole, the mindset of the human species has not. What a shame.

Back to the article...I am going to rip it to shreds now...and point out the many, many wrong statistics and whatever quoted.

Item 3. But why do men pay for it if they can just do it for free?

Married relationships can't provide this special "time out" stuff. Marriages are centered around finance, around children. This is a time out where it's purely about men having sexual satisfaction outside the bounds of a normal relationship. Men use their financial privilege to buy an intimate experience they can't get in their conventional relationship.
Also, this relationship is protected by the exchange. The men don't feel as though there's going to be some other emotional component, because the contract is very clear. This level of intimacy is an exchange, and the women who do this emotional labor make a lot of money. That's why you see this high end.

This question is from an article on another website. (http://www.yourtango.com/20084390/why-men-buy-sex-demystifying-spitzer.html) Fracking interesting piece of propaganda, if I do say so myself. Quite frankly? All men pay for sex....in some way shape or form. Think about it. The smart ones figured out how to keep the transaction as simple and painless as possible...they just pay the money up front. Less emotional trauma that way...and actually..financially better. If you want some milk..isnt it smarter to get one serving (12oz bottle) than to buy a whole gallon?? Methinks so. Dumb ass article. However, in order to this species to survive..we cling to the old notions that one must be married and procreate. That is..a religous discussion i will not even get into. I could go on for DAYS...Anyways, who the heck says sex is not to be enjoyed? its just a for procreation anymore!! I personally dont see the point of marriage...or binding myself to another in such a..final way..just to be protected and to feel safe and secure.

Now, where does these laws and stuff play into this? Why is prostitution illegal in so many places? It is due to the underbelly...the crime associated with the industry. The forced slavery of underage girls. The raping. The torture. The mind control. The drug use. The decline of one's emotional state..and physical. Yes, there are all concerns...and they should be addressed. However, i do believe most of the "underbelly" would not be as dominant in this subculture.

I do not know why society (american society) places so much emphasis on....sex. Yet, those who indulge in sexual practices outside of marriage are frowned upon. Sneered at. Ridiculed. If caught..locked away or heavy fines are imposed upon them. Why? The human species is the nost sexual of all species on this planet..and supposedly the most intelligent. Humpf. There are many other social issues crying out for attention...yet, society cares about who is sucking off who.

Lets tackle another point brought up from this Huffington Post article.

Point 6. Why do prostitutes rake in so much dough?

Prostitution is, seemingly, a low-skill but high-pay profession with few upfront costs, micro-miniskirts and stiletto heels aside.
According to data assembled from a wide variety of times and places, ranging from mid-15th-century France to Malaysia of the late 1990s, prostitutes make more money--in some cases, a lot more money--than do working girls who, well, work for a living. This held true even for places where prostitution is legal and relatively safe. ...One normally cannot be both a wife and a whore. "Combine this with the fact that marriage can be an important source of income for women, and it follows that prostitution must pay better than other jobs to compensate for the opportunity cost of forgone-marriage market earnings."

Okay, I will take a stab at this bullcrap. Another stereotype that needs to be shattered. The myth that prostitution is something anyone can do (the sex for cash type) needs to be shattered..to smithereens. This industry is not for everyone...the emotional, mental and physical aspects of it...not all can find that happy balance. Now, as far as the money goes? I would estimate approx half of what a provider makes goes BACK into her business. Placing ads, paying for membership to premium sights, clothes, location, travel, marketing, supplies, toys...all of this adds the hell up!! We wont even discuss the wardrobe issue..as most providers do not wear the miniskirt and heels all the damn time. Heck, most of the time, one can catch me in a pair of jeans, a tshirt and some sneakers. Sheesh. Even when I show up for appointments...I am usually in a suit with sensible heels. Or a pretty dress..nothing too revealing. I hate stereotypes and do my best to not perpetrate one.

Money isnt everything with this industry...I have other reasons for being a provider...its not all about the money for me. For me? I get to experience a ton of new adventures. I get to feed my sometimes feeling of lonely. I get paid so I can better myself..and prepare for my future. It's also the only way I can have a relationship of some sort with the males species. LOL. Personal choices...but nonetheless...its not always all about the money. I am a loner, yet a people person. Kinda weird, I know.

So, fuck this article and those of the like. Its biased! It doesnt present the positive side of this industry! It only points out the negative. Silly. If you are going to help the public opinion...present both sides! All sides!!

Revelation of True Nature...

Something I have recently come to terms with is..my true nature. Coming to terms with this has made me wonder about others....the meaning of life and the like. Well, on the surface only. I try to..not get too deep into thought. Last time I sat down and seriously thought about something...I didnt eat for days, barely slept...and cast everyone in my life out. This lasted for about two weeks or so. It does happen every now and again. I will just latch onto to a random thought...and try to figure it out. Eh.

Now, what brought all of this thinking about one's true nature about? Well...and this may sound a bit crazy so bear with me..I watch a lot of anime. Not the regular silly cartoons dubbed in English..I prefer the originals with subtitles. I prefer stories that have actual plots, twists and turns. Anyways, there is one series that..really made me stop and think. It's a series called Shikabane Hime...you can watch it on http://www.hulu.com/. Anyways, the general idea of this show is the question of what happens when we die? What if we die with regrets? Words never spoken? Dreams never fulfilled? Hopes never realized? Lost loves? Un resovled issues?
Well, in the series...all of these..allow the spirit of someone to carry on....well, take that back. These regrets and the like take physical form...with a bit of the original spirit still alive. These regrets become monsters, called Shikabane. They wander the earth, trying to fulfill their regrets. For example, if a young mother is killed in an accident...she will regret not being able to hold her child. So, the Shikabane she will become..will kill other young children...in the hopes that she will find her own child.

The teachings of enlightenment, reincarnation and various Buddhist teachings are referenced in this series..in fact, I would hazard a guess and say this show is based on such. As I said, it was the most interesting series I have ever come across. The viewpoints of reincarnation especially fascinated me. I have always wondered about reincarnation...and after watching this series..now I wonder even more about it.

You know how some refer to deja vu? An event in their life triggers a long distant memory...this memory hovers on the conscious mind at all times. Some have learned to ignore these flutterings of memories...just what if..what if deja vu really is a trigger to uncovering these lost memories? Where did these lost memories come from? A past life. Why do we have a past life? We left this world with business unfinished...which creates a tie between the spirit and living world. A soul can not rest if there are regrets and obsessions.

Another interesting viewpoint brought up by this animated series is..a person's true nature. The series introduces the viewer to another group of Shikabane..those that have released their ties to their regrets..and the acceptance of their true nature is what enables them to survive in the living world.

This group of Shikabane exists due to the fact they have embraced their true natures..or so they believe. Whether it be a wish for everyone to be as happy as they were, or just cruel to everyone (and not caring), the acceptance of their true nature has survived even death. the leader of this group is a young woman who was sactificed in a religous sect. She is death itself for she has not true nature, no regrets (she was kept as a sacrifice, cut off from all human contact)..yadda yadda.

The concept of one's true nature got me thinking...oh yes. One of those two week deals that I dive deep into myself to figure out. This made me think...of why I was so unhappy in my life. I was denying my true nature..which is actual a dual, contradictory nature. I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am neither black nor white....but I am BOTH. Hence, the creation of SinfulAngel. SinfulAngel is...me. I am classy and ghetto. Smart and dumb. Kind and cruel. Light and Darkness. Now that I have finally accepted who I am..I am much happier with my life in general. I don't seek the acceptance of others anymore. I have finally accepted my true nature...was denial the source of my seemingly eternal unhappiness? I was denying my true nature and trying to be what i wasnt? Is this true for everyone?

The things I wonder at times simply amazes me. Now that another story is begging for my attention, I have to finish this post up and start another.

Favorite Things...are the little things

You know? In the quest of trying to figure out what makes me happy...i have found out something significant.
Little things make me happy!!

Strawberries. I love strawberries. I think it goes back to some childhood memories..of lazy summers at my Grandma's house. She had wild strawberries in her backyard..and i would make myself sick by eating them. I havent had strawberries so juicy and sweet since...man. Those were good!! I can still taste them..and feel the stickiness on my hands. I would plop down on the ground (i do believe I was about 4 or 5...) and just eat them. Ants, dirt and all. I didnt care. They were yummy. I guess that is why one of my favorite cartoons growing up was Strawberry Shortcake.

Porkchops!!! I love, love, love love love love porkchops. Even the name sounds cute. Porkchop. Makes my mouth water. Once again, I think it ties back in with my upbringing. My grandfather was an excellent cook. In fact,  the women in my family always hook up with men who can cook..hmm. But man!! Those porkchops always came out so...yummyliscious!! Seasoned and fried up just right....oh man. The whole house would smell of...porkchops. Good god. I am a sucker for a good darned porkchop.

Lace. I am not much of a silk person...in fact, I am a pretty practical person. Why wear silk when it is just going to...slide?? My wardrobe is pretty simple. I wear dark colors...blacks, blues and purples. Gray and silver at times too. Now, my underclothes? Thats my secret indulgence. I love fishnet stockings. Regular stockings make me feel like I am suffocating..and I do like to feel free. Oh..and they have to be thigh hi's...not that control top crap. I like my panties and bras to have a bit of lace..not completely lace. Cant go wrong with cotton....

Music. Any post i make on any discussion board has a link to a song. I have ALWAYS loved music..all types. The blues, jazz, rap, italian lyrics, spanish, Czech, classical, broadway, trance, electronica, death metal, ska, grunge, r and b..I love music! Why? I can always find a song to fit whatever mood i am in. Music also helps me set my mood. If I am about to see a client, I will play something upbeat..but sensual. If I am at home relaxing with a cup of tea..then i will play some Ella Fitzgerald. I hear music and it is like it takes me over..i feel it in my veins..i come alive..however, i can not carry a tune in a bucket. I cant sing..and I dont try to. lol

Anime. I have always been a fan of Japanese Animation. Not the regular run of the mill silly cartoons one may see on TV. I love the ones that have depth to them...the pic above is of a series called Shikabane Hime. The underlying plot is of Buddhist teachings of enlightenment, life and death. It is by far, the BEST damn series I have come across. What happens to our regrets and obsessions when we die? Do they manifest and continue living? Reincarnation? This series just kicked ass...I loved it. I will be posting a blog soon about the concepts discussed in the series. I also prefer my anime with subtitles..as so much is often lost in translation. I also love Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex..1st and 2nd Gig. I think there is a 3rd gig out..I am still looking for it. The soundtrack is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, as I discovered Ilaria Graziano. She is an italian singer who does most of the vocals for the songs. Her voice is hauting. Beautiful...of another world. Listen to her on youtube and you shall see what I mean. Make sure you have a glass of wine beside you...her voice will transport you into another world. I am in the process of collecting all of her songs..

KeyChains. I collect keychains from different cities I visit. Just something quirky about me. I like the metal ones that have something in the middle you can spin. I have no clue where this obsession came from. I havent tried to figure it out either. lol.

VIDEOGAMES!!! I am the biggest RPGer out there. I have played almost all the Final Fantasy series (just finished up Crisis Core, as it has Sephiroth in it.
Something about guys with silver hair..and the strategy one has to use in serious games...keeps me busy.

Just a few of the things that make me happy in life!!

Love and the Sex Worker

So, Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Its the day where lovers snuggle close and show each other how much they love and appreciate each other

Now me? Personally, I am not a holiday person. Why have one special day out of the year? It's just another excuse for Hallmark and Hershey's to cash in. Call me jaded and cynical..but that is just how I feel on the matter. I tend to hide away when the holidays are around..I am not much for intimate gatherings and the sharing of feelings. Yes, part of this is due to my upbringing..holidays just werent celebrated in my household. Now, I dont hold it against others who wish to indulge in the festivities the holidays bring. I just do not understand it, as I was not raised in a festive environment.

Now, as for the title of this post....I an merely curious. I am a single, attractive young woman who enjoys being a courtesan. I enjoy the excitement, the no strings attached sentiments, the adventure. I travel to new and different places. I meet new people. I go exploring..into my true self..find out what makes me happy and the like. I enjoy my lifestyle, live it up and well, that is about it.
However, there are times..when the womanly feelings in me kick up and I get tired of sleeping in my queen size bed alone...and no, my cat doesnt count. I find myself wondering how it is...that I am a wonderful courtesan and can create magical moments for others..but not myself? How is it others can fnd love and true companionship..and I can not? Yes, I have tried. I have had ex boyfriends...even ex husbands. The only one I truly loved was an ex boyfriend..who, well, he hurt me. Still hurts to this day. Does this make me shy away from a substantial and meaningful relationship? You bet. So, I focus on other things in my life. I keep myself busy..new projects, writing, working, exploring..

I have wondered though..how do ladies in this industry have a significant other and continue to do what they do? Is there an off switch? Are they able to keep emotions for clients and loved ones separate? I know there are some ladies who don't tell their loved ones what they do for a living..does the guilt eat them alive?
Now me, I am a little different. I have a switch and can turn emotions on and off...just like that! (snap the fingers). However, this does not mean I am immune to emotions..I just control them.

There are some men I have met (well, one really) in this industry..that I truly wish we had met some other way. I am a stickler for self imposed rules. If i meet someone as a courtesan..then that is my role. Nothing more. What happens when one meets someone as..a real person...and the other person knows about the "secret life"? Would that change how they view each other? Would lines get blurred? Blurring of lines, in my opinion, causes "drama"...communication mis fires, words are hurled around with no real meaning..its all a mess after a while. Drama is something i try to avoid at all costs...as i dont have the time or patience for it.

What is wrong with having an excellent no strings attached relationship? Both parties get their needs fulfilled, there is a friendship...a deep friendship..and nothing else!! You may meet up once a month or something...hang out sometimes..and continue to live your lives. THAT is what I have ever wanted of any male. I dont want to be under his thumb..nor do I want him under mine. We meet up, have fun..and keep it moving. I have tried that..and it gets fucked up everytime!! So, from now on, eh. I wont worry about it. I will focus on being a successful businesswoman.

I am just curious. All parties involved in this industry know what the deal is...so why try to blur the lines?

Old Lady Rant of the Week..lol

I had posted this one another site...and really? It belongs here. Just one afternoon in my life...
Read on!!

1. is there a freaking teenager handbook that instructs teenage girls to squeal and giggle (high pitched) ALL THE FUCKING TIME!!. Hello!! I am on the subway, on my way home from an exhausting outcall (he was gooooooddddddd) and these two girls....omg. i wanted to punch them in the throat so fracking bad...would not shut up. I live about 40 mins from manhattan. Long train ride.

2. Is there a secret subway rule that says if you see someone breaking their ankles to get on a train...YOU STAND DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THEM? I actually had to shove someone (teenagers, yup) out the way because I was running to catch a fracking train.

3. Is there a god blessed code on how to decode the korean lady at the corner store? OMFG. I just wanted a pack of Marlboro Red 100's..IN THE BOX!! Not the softpack! She kept talking gibberish, I was pointing directly at the fracking box...took us five mins to figure each other out. How can you live in a predominately (dont call me out on my spelling) russian neighborhood and not speak a word of fucking english? Or russian? Or Spanish? WTF.

4. I am convinced the computer gods are all having a chuckle at my expense this week. My roommates's dog fucked up some buttons on my keyboard (he is a pit. big paws. long nails. left my laptop on the couch to go pee...came back, he was getting out of MY spot on the couch and clawed my fucking keyboard.) Oh, not only that, TER is loading slow for me today. Let's not forget my headphones..the left ear just..poof. bam. blew out. so now, i have to get a new pair.

5. The males species, as a whole, are a bunch of fucktards. This is a fact. My roomie? 35 and wants to be a rockstar. If I have to hear Crazy Train by Ozzy ONE MORE FRACKING FRICKING DAY..i am taking his 2500 guitar, his laptop and his fucking amps and selling them...all for 100 bucks, which should really piss him off.

I am only 29 but i swear to the Provider Goddess (i am buildng her a shrine in my room this week, she has been good to me lately...) that i feel 87.

So, a general recap of events

Sigh. It's been pretty hectic since i moved to nyc about 2 months ago!!!

Trying to get a foothold on things..get myself settled and established...moving into a new place and just in general trying to find my way.

Learning the NYC subway system, learning how to navigate Manhattan...all the different neighborhoods..its a lot! On top of that, still running my business,  meeting new people, starting up 2 new side businesses (web design and free lance makeup artist) and i am trying to get my behind in school. (major? computer science)

I am one who likes to be busy...and constantly improving myself. Always.

The going back to school thing is a bit daunting..I am in the process of choosing my exact major..and I may have to go for a double degree. A Bachelors in Computer Science and an Applied Associates in graphic arts. I am not sure yet...I am still in the research phase. I have to get on the ball and pick a school soon though..there is paperwork to be filled out! I have to figure out how I am going to pay for all of this! WTF? LOL. Two degrees at once? Well, when I do something..I do go all out. I know I am up for the challenge. I am actually getting excited about this. I am going back to school because I am a collector. I  like to collect knowledge (and keychains from different cities I visit). I already have 2 degrees..I want two more. I need a side project..and computers keep my mind busy. The infinite possibilities, the ever changing technology...for someone like me, who is always on the quest to learn new things (and I tend to get bored with things easily) the Computer Science field makes sense to me. I am working on being in school by this fall.

Now, for the summer time, I am going to tour. I love to tour..see new cities,  meet new people and experience life. That is just me. So, I am coming up with the list of cities I want to hit up this year. So far, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and Miami have  made the list. San Francisco is kind of iffy though. I am not sure about that. Of course, if I am going to be in school soon..I need to figure out how am I going to work on two degrees, provide and be a free lance makeup artist? One would think I would cut myself some slack...where is the fun? Quite frankly..I don't have time for fun really. There is so much I need to do...and for some reason, I turned 29 this year and realize..I need a life. LOL. I need to better myself. I have goals I want to achieve...and I better get a move on it!! Being a provider will allow me the freedom I want..so I can do what I have to do. I don't have any children, dont have anyone special in my life...so, I have no excuses!!

So, that's just a general run down. Oh! I am also working on improving my provider image. LOL. This SinfulAngel persona (or two I should say) has really taken root within me. I have found what works for me..now, to fine tune it and then unleash it onto the world! LOL. It is like..turning 29..I am finally comfortable with who I am. I dont care anymore what others think of me (to a certain extent). I am me, myself. That is all I can be. I am the sinner and the angel. The light and the dark. Its a pretty interesting..and complex..uh, thing. Idea is the word I was looking for. LOL. The great thing is...it's mine. The concept, the idea, the planning..its all mine. LOL. It's me! I finally feel free in a way.

I hope 2010 is a darn good year. I have a lot of plans!!

A Warm Hello and Welcome from Khym!

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog site!

If you read the title, you will notice it says the "angel diaries"...yes, this is the Angel side of Khym Danyels. The real, every day to day struggles and triumphs of Khym Danyels.

The angel diaries is a look under the garter belt so to speak. Everyone glamourizes the life of a courtesan. Granted, there are moments I love this industry and wouldn't trade it for anything else. Then there are other moments where I stand in front of a mirror and ask..."what the heck was I thinking? I can't do this...I shouldn't do this..."

So, if you are ever wondering what thoughts are running through my head, this is the place to find them. Some thoughts are completely random..others are deeply thought provoking.

Who is the Angel of SinfulAngel? The angel is the sweetheart. The one who is a closet romantic....always hoping for the best outcome of any situation. Forever cheerful, tactful, polite, polished. She maintains her good girl image..never breaking any rules, never too harsh with anyone. This is not to say that she is a weak pushover. She knows how to stand her ground in any situation or environment. She always has a kind word for everyone. When she walks in the room, her quiet demeanor speaks volumes...as if she was shouting for all to hear.

This is the Angel Diaries. Happy reading!!
